Abstract

Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, who taught by the pen and taught humanity what it did not know. Peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), the teacher of humanity, who did not leave any means that could serve the Islamic call except that he used it.

To proceed: There is no doubt that discussing anger, how it occurs, and how it can be treated is important for everyone. Anger is considered one of the human emotions that can have negative effects in destroying relationships between individuals. It is an emotional experience and a characteristic of human behavior.

It is often perceived as a secondary emotion because we usually react to different situations, and these situations can trigger emotional responses to varying degrees and in multiple contexts, such as frustration, boredom, experiencing unfair treatment, dissatisfaction, receiving criticism, physical pain, or physical restrictions.

The symptoms of anger do not appear only in our emotions but also in our bodies, minds, and behaviors. The precise nature of each individual’s response to pain and frustration at a given time depends on personal background and previous experiences in dealing with emotions. When anger takes control of a person, it negatively affects them physically. Studies have confirmed that suppressing anger leads to psychosomatic disorders such as coronary artery disease, stomach ulcers, and irritable bowel syndrome.

Anger also affects the social and psychological aspects of an individual. It may lead to poor social relationships and social fragmentation. Anger carries a negative image when it results in social or psychological complications and problems, and when it is expressed intensely and in an exaggerated manner that does not correspond to the severity of the situation. When a person becomes angry, they lose control over themselves, their ability to think clearly becomes impaired, their concentration weakens, and they are unable to perceive the necessary details to resolve the situation. They may also experience anxiety, depression, and psychological distress.
