Evaluating the human psyche in the Islamic perspective

Abstract

The choice of our research entitled: (Evaluating the human soul in the Islamic perspective) came to shed light on the soul and its conditions, so it identifies the praiseworthy parts and how to reach them and remain steadfast in them, and monitor the reprehensible ones, how to evaluate them, and methods of preventing them, and all of this within an Islamic framework of the approach. The Qur’an and the Sunnah... and the importance of the topic: It appears through the profound impact it has on the individual himself in improving souls and on the society around him, and to reduce the diseases of the souls that erode the means of comfort and eliminate safe living in society.. As for the research method, I relied on research and investigation of the soul with inductive objectivity based on monitoring the condition and finding out the methods of treating it and the applications of that from the legal texts. Citing what the scholars said about this from the approved sources in their books... and among the most important results that the research yielded were:

1. The word (correction) has its origin in uprightness and its meanings are diverse. It fits the topic; it is moderating the soul, maintaining its balance, educating it by correcting its crookedness, directing it to the right path, making it follow justice, taking it to the completion of its purpose, following the system, and making it steadfast in righteousness and goodness.

2. Among the methods of correcting the human soul in Islam are what God Almighty has prescribed so that it is part of the five pillars of the religion in spirit and action.

3. The one who is on the path to improving himself must adhere to moderation in this matter. In a way that does not lead to exhaustion and does not lead to toxicity and boredom.

4. Evaluating souls according to God’s law and the values of Islam: It represents a solid foundation for the establishment of a cohesive Islamic society that aims to spread virtuous morals and lofty values.
